Abstract:

Medical applications of the radionuclides in: Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine (Diagnostic and Therapy), Laboratory and Research, arc an important field of the strategy of the training and information in Radiation Protection (RP). In addition, it constitutes one of the basic pillars of adequate utilisation of ionising radiation. The need of fluent communication among the components of a team of work in the vent of incidents of accidents makes necessary the use of operation manuals easily comprehensible as well as the periodic revision of radiation protection system, it includes the training to the staff and patients on management of radiological solid wastes and effluents that produce alarm and makes necessary to be explained adequately. Also adequate co-ordination in research makes easy the development of new lines compatible with RP. This paper summarises: - The contents of international recommendations, the European Directives and Spanish legislation related to training and information in radiological facilities. - The strategy of training and information and analysis of incidents in the medical facilities. - The contents of the informative leaflets.
