Transmedia convergence and agenda setting: Covid-19 health emergency analysis in ecuador

Abstract:

The research presented shows the transmedia convergence and the generation of agenda setting in the media that occurred in Ecuador during the health emergency caused by Covid-19. From the establishment of word triads and through the Maxqda software applied to the Twitter accounts of the Ecuadorian and international national press, correlation and influence on the narratives and responses of government actors are identified. Hence, the Twitter’s catalytic role is evidenced by marking the political course of the pandemic through content and approaches far from the control of any media or government filter.
