Transmission and reflection hazes of a suspended particle device at intermediate levels between clear and dark optical states
Abstract:
Suspended particle devices (SPD) are electrophoretic smart windows switching between two optical appearance states, dark off and clear on, without and with applied alternating electrical voltage respectively. Haze parameter, defined as percentage of transmitted or reflected diffuse to total light, is referred in this work as fuzziness, i.e. contrary to sharpness, and was obtained for intermediate levels between dark off and clear on states of the SPD window for both transmission and reflection. Transmission haze was compared with the average crossing parameter obtained in recently works from four flux radiative transfer model in order to find out intrinsic light scattering and absorption coefficients.
