Abstract:

This titling work presents the study of a psychotic episode in a pediatric patient, with the presentation of a clinical case of the Riobamba Provincial General Teaching Hospital, adolescent of 12 years with a history of hyperkinetic behavior disorder, polymorphic acute psychotic disorder, with symptoms of schizophrenia. Her mother reports that when she was five years old, she was diagnosed with attention disorder and hyperactivity, for which she received medication for several years, not specified by the mother. She reports suspending treatment on several occasions, facing signs of irritability, restlessness, and aggression, in the last six months, and also auditory hallucinations. Consequently, she decides to go to this health center, being evaluated by a specialist doctor who decides her admission for further treatment. In the Riobamba Provincial General Teaching Hospital, cabinet examinations are carried out, in addition to daily assessments in which the patient explained that she cannot be still and does not want to be separated from her mother; In addition to hearing voices, it is accompanied by loss of appetite for several days, which is why it looks asthenic.
