Trends in Accounting Education

Abstract:

The research aimed to analyze the research reported in Spanish language regarding accounting education to try an approach to the level of development trends in this topic. The term "accounting education" was revised in Google Scholar, for its appearance in the title of the documents referenced by this search engine appear. According to this review, a total of 109 documents were analyzed. To establish the trends in accounting education had the difficulty that this discipline is in a stage of building a community with a dispersed production. That was evident because the publications found maintain a relatively low average citations per paper (2.9) and the number of recoverable documents is also low. It could be calculated that 52 documents of total (43.70%) have not received cites.
