Triage of the pediatric patient Covid-19 in the Emergency Service of the General Hospital Puyo

Abstract:

Covid 19 is a coronavirus that directly affects the respiratory system, it is of a high level of contagion for this reason, hospitals have seen their emergency services overwhelmed, in this sense the triage area that attends the pediatric emergency unit of the hospital General Puyo, does not escape this reality. That is why the present study aims to establish the level of knowledge presented by the nursing staff working in the triage area about the procedures for classifying patients in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic. The study was descriptive, cross-sectional. the technique used for data collection is the survey. The instrument used was a dichotomous questionnaire applied to 21 nurses from the Puyo Provincial General Hospital who perform functions in the emergency service. In conclusion, that the pediatric emergency area, referring to emergency triage, should create a greater commitment to the nursing staff to improve their knowledge about the level of care that each patient has and even more so he was pediatric, which is the sector more defenseless because many times they do not know how to express what they are feeling.
