Turpentine oil hydration using dealuminated faujasite as catalyst

Abstract:

The catalytic potential of dealuminated faujasite in the hydration of turpentine oil was investigated. The main product was the monocyclic alcohol α-terpineol (44%) being the non-alcohotic isomerization co-product only 24 %.
