Two phase boiling characteristics of R-134a and R-12 in annuli of enhanced surface tubing

Abstract:

An experimental study of flow boiling heat transfer characteristics of R-12 and R-134a, in the annuli of a horizontal enhanced surface tubing evaporator is presented. The experiments show two regions of heat transfer: a nucleate boiling region where the heat transfer depends mainly on heat flux and, a forced convective region where the heat transfer depends only on the refrigerant flow rate. © 1992.
