Técnica de estiramiento, liberación miofascial del diafragma y ventilación dirigida en pacientes con enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica. Área de neumología, Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. Cuenca, 2017
Abstract:
Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide; that progressively develops an obstruction to alveolar airflow; As the fascial system is an uninterrupted network, it is important to eliminate restrictions and compressions of the diaphragm fascia by manual and respiratory techniques which have been shown to improve vital signs and dyspnea. Objective: To determine the results of the application of the techniques of stretching, myofascial release of the diaphragm and directed ventilation in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Area of Pneumology of the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. Cuenca, 2017. Methodology: The study is quasi-experimental, performed in patients aged 40-94 years with a diagnosis of moderate-severe COPD; with this universe, a pre- and post-intervention evaluation was carried out and the results obtained were compared. For the statistical analysis, the tabulation was carried out using the software SPSS version 15 and analyzed by means of descriptive statistics. Results: The results of the research project revealed the effectiveness of the techniques of stretching, myofascial release and directed ventilation in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, getting to improve their dyspnea decreasing from grades IV to III, II and I, regulation of vital signs As: the heart rate in 4.1%, in blood pressure 16.69%, in respiratory frequency of 37.5% and we managed to improve in the quality of life, according to the t-Student test an improvement in the physical aspect of 18.52% was obtained and in social aspect of a 19.52%.
