ULTRASONIC IRRIGATION IN ENDODONTICS: A STATE-OF-THE-ART ANALYSIS

Abstract:

The cleaning and disinfection of canals plays an essential role in the treatment of canals, especially in those with a complex morphology. That is why original scientific articles related to the topic were investigated during the period 2017-2022, with the aim of analyzing the importance of the use of ultrasound in root canal irrigation as part of the endodontic process; for this, the documentary methodology was used, the corpus was composed of 20 articles, through a content matrix the data were obtained and interpreted with the content analysis. The use of ultrasound in the cleaning and disinfection of canals plays an important role, especially in those that are difficult to access. Concluding that the activation of ultrasound PUI allows to obtain a greater amount of clean dentinal tubules, the cement will occupy the spaces, achieving a three-dimensional obturation, ensuring part of the success of the treatment.
