URBAN SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT MANAGEMENT MODEL IN THE PROVINCE OF EL ORO, ECUADOR


Abstract:

The vertiginous growth of the population worldwide, affects those collateral variables that were previously not considered important for the daily life of societies, to the point that in environmental matters within the context of solid waste, necessary actions must be established. to carry out a correct management from its beginning to its final disposal, in this sense in the province of El Oro in Ecuador, there are fourteen municipalities, which as a result of their organic and non-organic waste re-quire the application of controls that contribute to its correct management, therefore, the objective is to analyze the management of solid waste that is carried out in the municipalities, in order to identify compliance with the regulatory framework that is applied at a local and global level. The research is cross-sectional with a quantitative approach in which a questionnaire applied by ECLAC and the Ministry of the Environment in Chile in 2019 was applied, in order to evaluate the relevant aspects of the management of household solid waste, regulations and ordinances. in the area of the environment, generating as a result, non-compliance with what is established by the regulations and good practices in terms of household solid waste management.
