USE OF SUBTITLED FILMS TO IMPROVE LISTENING IN ENGLISH FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS


Abstract:

Listening comprehension is still a road that needs to be traveled completely by students and teachers due to the lack of tools and ways to help motivate education and learning based on this method, the lack of cultural education about native speakers of English, the little or no use of technological resources that motivate the study of a second language and other factors that affect the acquisition of a new language in our environment. Watching subtitled films is a tool to approach listening comprehension in English as a foreign language by favoring the process in an entertaining and meaningful way for students.
