Un modelo de mediación sobre la participación en los cibermedios informativos a partir de los universitarios de Chile, China, Colombia, España, México y Perú
Abstract:
Cyberspace proposes an extension of public sphere and opinion, since it erodes the borders between public and private participation, particularly among young people. From this angle, trends such as prosumers emerge, that is, those users who synthesize the processes of sending and receiving a message. In this research, we examine the indirect effect established between the ease of navigation in an informative website, with the publication of the writings by young university students. To do this, we have applied a survey to 4705 university students from Chile, China, Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Peru. In the results, we verified the indirect conditional effect mediated by constant updating and contact with other users. In this way, the incentive of user production can be an essential factor both due to the increase in the time that prosumers stay on the news website and their loyalty. However, to stimulate the users contributions, the evidence provided underscores the need to improve: a) the perception of the web’s ease of navigation; b) constant updating, that is, a strategy for staging an update; c) contact with other users.
