Una propuesta de indicador para medir la eficiencia de la financiaciÓn mixta de las radiotelevisiones pÁblicas europeas

Abstract:

In this article, we propose the construction of an efficiency indicator of the mixed funding system for the public audiovisual service (INDEFIMIX). This indicator allows the evaluation and comparison of the economic management of public radiotelevision companies in some European Union countries in relation to their audience results and the perception that citizens have about their independence. The mixed funding of radiotelevision companies in Poland, Italy, Netherlands, Ireland, United Kingdom, Denmark, Lithuania, Belgium and Portugal is the most efficient in terms of audience and independence with respect to public funds and commercial incomes. However, neither the diversity of the regulatory policies of each of the countries nor the effectiveness objectives of their mission are considered.
