Uncommon combination of hepatocarcinoma with sjögren's syndrome

Abstract:

Sjögren's syndrome is a rheumatic disease that increases the risk of suffering from malignant diseases. Lymphomas are identified among them as most frequent. Hepatocarcinoma is one of the most aggressive conditions and the incidence has been increasing associated with high alcohol consumption. We present the case of a 56-year-old patient with diagnosis of Sjögren's syndrome that presents clinical and anatomo-pathological manifestations allowing the diagnosis of a very rare hepatocarcinoma. This entity causes a progressive deterioration of the patient health status. It is of vital importance knowing the symptoms and signs in order to reach early diagnosis, thus avoid complications. There is no etiopathogenic relationship between these two conditions.
