Under Frequency Load Disconnection Scheme Based on Improvement to Semi-Adaptative Model

Abstract:

Stability studies in electrical power systems are generally based on the study of frequency and voltage in their dynamic behavior, being that in instants of instability these parameters directly influence machines in the system, as well as in demand. To deal with these problems, processes and elements have been developed to help prevent such disturbances by exercising actions on the machines as protection and on the loads for the power outage, one of the processes developed is the load disconnection. In this research, the goal is to show a study of the load disconnection methodology as a technical option to support the system in the event of instability due to the frequency drop, developing a load disconnection process improving the frequency change range, recalculating the frequency deviation and how the power grid is affected by disconnecting point loads, in order to reduce the impact that these disconnections produce on the electrical system.
