Use and Impact of Big Data in Organizations

Abstract:

Data analysis is important in many domains, including technology, financial, economic, commercial, government, administrative, and others. The effective interpretation of the data offers a substantial advantage in decision-making in public and private organizations. Recently, the massive use of new technologies such as the internet and social networks produce a large daily amount of data (Big Data) that organizations have to deal. For instance, social networks have been scenarios for dialogue and confrontation between citizens and the government, with active discussions on current issues and government actions. In this State-of-the-Art, we review the use of Big Data in private and government organizations. Our review considers the impact of new technologies in the financial and administrative fields. We discuss various useful uses and aspects focused on the Big Data value chain.
