Use and Product Quality of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Systems: A Systematic Literature Review

Abstract:

This study presents a systematic review of the literature related to the quality of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) systems. The main objective of this systematic literature review is to analyze relevant information and what attributes and quality characteristics are used when evaluating the quality of BCI systems. Moreover, some related works are described to contextualize the contribution of this research. In addition, selection and extraction criteria were established to develop this review. In this way, the results showed that Brain-Computer Interface is a comprehensive branch of computer science. Therefore, it has become of great interest and importance in the research field in both industries and academia. Besides, it can be concluded that the most used quality characteristics are efficiency and usability. Finally, it was identified that creating a model quality that covers a research gap in this field is necessary to improve BCI systems quality.
