Use of RSVP in mobile multimedia
Abstract:
The Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) was originally designed to work with in wired networks. Therefore, when a node moves from one locality to another, the RSVP protocol does not guaranteed the continuity of the resources that the node might have had in its original locality. Multimedia applications in real-time require that certain resources be guaranteed for its correct operation; for this reason it is necessary to find new schemes to satisfy the requirements of multimedia applications. In this paper we will discuss some architectures to allow the implementation of Reservation Resources Protocol RSVP for mobile computing environments., emphasizing the impact of mobility on RSVP Protocol and comparing the different architectures. NMRSVP, which includes MRSVP, promise a reduction in interruptions while being at the same time bandwidth conservative.
