Use of chatbots in the ecuadorian media


Abstract:

In the present work, the use of chatbots in the Ecuadorian media is disclosed, firstly, 1008 media from the sectors: press, radio, television and digital natives are investigated in order to analyze which have chatbots in their social network Facebook Messenger. Other tools used by the media in order to generate interaction with the user are also mentioned. To achieve the results, a mixed methodology was used: quantitative (media map) and qualitative (structured and semi-structured interviews with media owners and specialists on the subject). The results show that the use of interactive tools with audiences is still limited in the Ecuadorian media, only 2 media use chatbots, 271 automatic responses, 45 automatic options and 690 do not present any type of interaction.
