Use of steam methodology to motivate children and young people to use artificial intelligence


Abstract:

Around the world, the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) methodology is applied to the teaching of basic and technical sciences such as robotics and programming, as well as in new applications in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In order to generate motivation in children and young people about the use of Artificial Intelligence, this research used the Scratch and Machine Learning for Kids technology platforms together with the STEAM methodology as a bridge between education and technology, in the subject of Mathematics in eighth graders. As a result of this integration, favorable results were obtained regarding the motivation of students in the use of Artificial Intelligence.
