VOTING SYSTEMS, THEIR IMPACT ON VOTER BEHAVIOR AND ELECTORAL RESULTS

Abstract:

The electoral procedures suppose the activity in which we citizens make effective our right to elect and be elected, as an exercise of democracy, this act is mandatory for certain individuals and optional for others; however, although it supposes a fact that expresses the will of the voter there are circumstances and factors that determine his decision. The present analysis was undertaken with the purpose of examining those elements that could influence at the moment of choosing, through descriptive research with a qualitative approach, and of transversal cut, it was possible to demonstrate how the voter tends to be influenced at the moment of choosing in a voting system, which distances him in some way from what he was longing for.
