Validación ultrasonográfica de las lesiones del manguito de los rotadores frente a estudios de resonancia magnética en pacientes del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, Cuenca, 2010-2011
Abstract:
Objective To determine the validity of the ultrasound for the diagnosis of lesion of the “manguito rotador” in comparison with the magnetic resonance in patients ≥40 years old, assisted in the Hospital “José Carrasco Arteaga” of the city of Cuenca, during the 2010-2011. Materials and methods The study of the validation of the diagnostic testwas carried out. The sample was calculated on the sensibility base of the echography for the diagnosis of lesion of the “manguito rotador”of 86%, specificity 89%, prevalence of the illness 30%, confidence level 95% and precision 9.5%. The size sample was obtained with the support of the statistical program Epi Dat; the result was 171 patients. The recollection of data was applied in a direct way, and with the support of the statistical Software SPSS 15, in this way was proceeded the current analysis. Results The minimum age was of 40 years, the maxim of 92, the average, of 64.5, ± 9.5 DS; those maximum age than 65 years, 59.1%; the female sex, 57.9%. The sensibility of the echography for the diagnosis of lesion of the “manguito rotador” was of 94%, the specifics, of 96%, the pbkp_redictive positive value, of 98.1%; the pbkp_redictive negative value, of 90%; the Likelihood positive Ratio, of 27.9% and the Likelihood negative Ratio, of 0.06%. Conclusions The sensibility of the ultrasound for the diagnosis of lesion of the “manguito rotador” was 94%, the specifics, of 96%, the pbkp_redictive positive value, of 98.1%; the pbkp_redictive negative value, of 90%; the Likelihood positive Ratio, of 27.9% and the Likelihood negative Ratio, of 0.06%.
