Valoración y análisis del estado nutricional del personal administrativo de la Dirección Distrital 01D05 Nabón – Oña – Salud – 2017


Abstract:

Today, overweight is health problems. It has been increasing in the last few years. The higher excessive intake of nutrients compared to a lower expenditure. OBJECTIVE: To value and analyze the nutritional status of the administrative staff in the Health District Office 01D05 Nabón - Oña, through the use and interpretation of anthropometric and dietetic indicators. METHODOLOGY: A retrospective analytical study was carried out. The study involved 30 adult person. Patients were currently working at the administrative department. In order to determine the nutritional status the study must include the assessment and analysis of anthropometric and dietary indicators. It was complemented with the estimation of body fat percentage through bioimpedance. The level of physical activity, type of work and residence with their nutritional status were also related. RESULTS: 57% were women and 43% were men, between 29 to 38 years old. The 77% of the population are above the average weight, most of them are overweight, just like the body fat percentage (64%). The dietary intake is inadequate, consuming excess calories (53%), saturated fats (87%), carbohydrates (64%), sugar and sugary products (93%). While the intake of fiber (97%), protein (67%), unsaturated fats (97%) and water (90%) was deficient. CONCLUSIONS: An inappropriate dietary intake will lead to an inadequate nutritional status. If consumption is excessive, overweight or obesity will be generated. In the future this will be able to initiate chronic degenerative diseases such as the metabolic syndrome, representing higher costs and slow development of the country
