Variables socio-organizacionales y demográficas que influyen en la sostenibilidad organizacional agroecológica

Abstract:

Organizational sustainability represents one of the greatest current challenges for organizations, since they must respond to the needs, in contexts of profound socioeconomic changes, that seek new methods to manage efforts, resources, capacities in efficient and effective environments in complex environments (Vásquez Rizo and Gabalán Coello, 2015). Hence, agroecological organizational sustainability has taken on special importance to improve the resilience of agricultural systems and promote fairer and more sustainable food systems. Agroecological associations in this context play a key role in promoting agroecological practices and fostering sustainable food production and marketing at the local and regional level.   This article includes a quantitative study of 131 agroecological associations in the province of Azuay, which has made it possible to analyze the impact of three key variables on their organizational sustainability: age, number and composition of members, and geographic location.  The information tool applied has made it possible to determine the level of incidence of these variables in the environmental, social and economic dimensions of agroecological organizational sustainability. The results obtained are very useful for designing and implementing strategies and policies that contribute to the creation of networks and alliances between associations, which could increase their impact and improve the promotion of sustainable agroecological and food practices in the region and the country.
