Abstract:

This paper will study the main quality parameters managed services in local area networks. It describes the standards used for prioritization of Ethernet frames in Local Area Networks and shows the usefulness of the service type field in the header of the IP datagram. Reference is made to the models for the implementation of quality and analysis of tail mechanisms for controlling congestion in the network and is simulated by the simulator OPNET IT Guru Academic Edition, behavior thereof taking into account the QoS parameters for a network in question. Allowing reach a set of conclusions on the use of QoS in LANs.
