Virtual platforms and the perception of university students in Ecuadorian higher education during the Covid-19 pandemic


Abstract:

The objective was to investigate the reality of virtual platforms in Ecuadorian higher education and their academic impact before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was quantitative. The sample was non-probabilistic participatory, consisting of (500) students from different universities in the Province of Chimborazo. A digital scale was used for data collection. The results were analysed with the t student and MANOVA on the basis of 4 study variables, using SPSS. A positive view of students when using educational platforms was revealed. There are significant statistical differences according to gender variables, contrary to the levels of study and location, there is a greater sympathetic affection of students when receiving virtual classes by female teachers. It can be concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of online learning by higher education institutions.
