Water Purification System in Rural Áreas

Abstract:

The population of developing countries experiences the lack of adequate sanitary conditions, including having drinkable water that meets their basic needs. Purification is the transformation through which the vital liquid passes, generating water for human and animal consumption without risk of disease. The most important basis of life on earth is water, without which it is difficult to survive. The human population has been maintained for thousands of years. But today, very few areas of the planet are safe from water pollution. Only 3 percent of the earth’s water is sweet rather than salty and 99% of this is found deep underground or exists as glaciers or ice sheets. Water pollution today is a great challenge since most economic activities are used by water. Certain estimates concludes that 75 percent of the countries do not have access to drinking water. The proposed system consists of a rain collector and a water treatment plant that involves operations such as: roughing, coagulation and flocculation, filtration, refining with activated carbon, chlorination and reverse osmosis.
