Water desalination methods

Abstract:

Desalinated seawater became a main source for fresh water supply to human populations around the world due to growing fresh water for human use scarcity. Several factors have contributed to it, wide brackish and seawater to be desalinated availability, a wide variety of desalination methods, permanent research and investigation proposing new methods and improving the already existing and the sustained cost reduction. The main desalination methods used are reverse osmosis, multi effect distillation and multi stage flash evaporation, those methods became reducing costs and improving efficiency strongly backed by operating systems experience and by investigation and theoretical development. In this paper an analysis of methods of desalination water is presented, the main methods, those whom became used long time ago, as new reported methods, and some improvements presented in new works to already known methods.
