Web application for the execution of usability inspections on websites

Abstract:

With the growth in the number of applications deployed online, usability has become a fundamental factor in ensuring software quality. According to ISO 9241-11, usability is defined as the degree to which a software product can be used by specific users to achieve specific objectives with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in a given context of use. At the level of usability on websites, a set of heuristics and criteria that allow the identification of typical usability problems are proposed. Therefore, in this paper we propose a web application that automates the usability inspection process on websites through these heuristics, which allows the evaluation of compliance with a set of criteria associated with them, obtaining a graphical report on the average and percentage of compliance by principle.
