Women's work: Andean pattern and local variation

Abstract:

Women are not present in agricultural working stricto sensu in Frias, in the Piura highlands. A comparison of the pattern of organisation with case studies in other regions of Peru shows differences with the Andean pattern. But the pattern described here covers a great diversity of situations. Among many factors, the historical reconstitution of a farming system is necessary to understand its current orientation. -English summary
