Work stress in professors, administrative staff and workers in the university


Abstract:

The burnout syndrome, it has been a matter since it produces a physical and emotional stress what implies the development of negative attitudes, poor self-concept, and loss of interests of individuals to work. The objective of this research was to make a descriptive analysis, cross-sectional of probabilistic type; the test was made to 197 people between professors, administrative personnel and workers of a private university in Cuenca. The statistical analysis shows that 48, 9% is men and 51% is women, the range in age with high percentage is between 31 to 40 years old. Burnout syndrome presents a medium level of 36, 87%. In the scale It, shows a high level of 37, 88%; in the scale In, a medium level with 39, 90%, so the same Dp, with 45, 45%, and finally a low level in C, with 25, 76%. The results suggest that it must be taken into account immediately because it would put in the profile 1 of SBI, and it would lead to the appearance of feelings and behavior related to work stress, generating a moderate way of personal discomfort that affect people’s adequate performance in their workplaces.
