Yaatree: A Mobile Application for Transportation Request Focused on People with Disabilities

Abstract:

New technologies have the duty to help in the inclusion of people with disabilities in society. This article shows the design, development and evaluation of an application oriented to the transport of people with a motor disability. The application is developed for Android system, uses Google’s geolocation services, maps and routes generation, in addition, it stores information in Firebase, also has a web interface that allows the validation of new users in mobile application. The results show that the application has a proper construction and a high level of usability. Finally, the long-term objective of the application is to be put into production to effectively help in the transportation of people with motor disabilities in Ecuador.
