e-Participation tool for decision support based on the ePfw framework


Abstract:

Citizen participation today is also related to information and communication technologies (ICTs), allowing citizens to express opinions, attitudes, publicly as a member of a community on matters of common interest. This research aims to develop a web tool (called ParticipaTool) that provides support to the e-Participation framework called ePfw. For the methodological construction of the tool, the Design Science Research (DSR) research methodology and the SCRUM method for software development are applied. The purpose of this tool is to help members of the institutional community participate in the decisions that concern them, for this purpose the application and results of an experiment to assess the performance of the tool by students with computer technical knowledge are shown, who plays the role of participants in an e-Participation process.
