¿ Venezuela en la Brecha Digital o en Revolución Tecnológica

Abstract:

World nations are developing political plans to incorporate information and communication technologies (ICTs) into society. However, a digital gap between developed and undeveloped countries still remains. That is, there exists an outstanding difference between nations having ICTs and using them properly and those which still do not. Based on the above, the goal is to determine Venezuela’s position in the Digital Access Index (DAI) according to data provided by local and international sources such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Economic Forum and the Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL). It is concluded that in the world range, Venezuela shows a moderately low access level to ICTs; and locally, it has made progress in the incorporation of ICTs into different fields of society.
