“De la trocha a la escuela: estudio exploratorio cualitativo sobre las experiencias que atraviesan las familias migrantes venezolanas en el proceso de escolarización de sus niños, niñas y adolescentes”


Abstract:

This research project aims to describe the experiences of migrant families regarding to their schooling process within the educational system. Essential topics such as school experience, the schooling process and the role of the migrant family were reviewed. To do this, a qualitative approach was used with a narrative method that allowed the reconstruction of the experience, through a group interview with four Venezuelan families with children of school age from 6 to 15 years old who are register in a Public School and then an individual follow-up interview with two families. The results showed that the schooling process for migrant families is influenced by the conditions of vulnerability existing in the environment. In conclusion, the school experience begins in Venezuela when the family decides to migrate and is shaped through interaction with the other subjects of the educational community.
