“Estudio exploratorio sobre las experiencias de las familias de niños, niñas y adolescentes migrantes venezolanos en educación escolarizada en Guayaquil”
Abstract:
The increase in the migration of Venezuelan families to Ecuador has complicated access to schooling for migrant children and teens. In response to this, many families seek help from third parties who can facilitate access and continuity in school. This qualitative research, through the narrative method, reconstructed the experience of Venezuelan families according to their social support system which facilitates processes related to education. A group interview was conducted with four Venezuelan families with children aged 6 to 15 years who attend a public institution, and subsequently semi-structured follow-up interviews with two families. The results showed that their social support system accompanied the entire migration process and mitigated the trauma of arrival in a new community.
