Abstract:
This thesis will study the online reputation of Chilean President Sebastián Pinera in the context of crisis during the 2019-2021 period, in which there were manifestations, the introduction of new constitutions and the management of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study will be carried out on the Twitter microblogging platform and is exploratory, not experimental, with a mixed approach due to its qualitative and quantitative variables. For data collection was used the Twitter Application Programming Interface (API), from this a sample of 8109 tweets with the hashtag #pineraasesino was extracted, the encoding of these tweets helped us determine the president’s digital reputation based on the public opinion of the citizens on the aforementioned platform, since there were multiple clearly negative adjective in the tweets, such as: murderer, dictator, liar, among others; its management and reputation were determined to be unfavorable. Based on the previously mentioned, as a result it was established that the relationship of Sebastian Piñera’s personal and digital reputation based on the reactions of users on Twitter was negative due to the number of negative adjectives used by citizens.
