Development of a Linear Algebra-Based Controller for a Three-Tank System in Series within a Virtual Reality Environment

Abstract:

The use of a control method based on linear algebra for a system consisting of three tanks connected in series within a virtual reality setting is the main topic of this paper. The user-friendly virtual environment offers all the tools and infrastructure needed to enable interaction between the user and the industrial process. This includes the ability to simulate the process and control and monitor variables in real-time. This control model has the advantage of using discrete equations, making its implementation possible for most systems. The system model is estimated using numerical methods for the controller design, and a system of linear equations is then solved by least squares. Because of its advancements in technology, realism, and intuitiveness, virtual reality has become an invaluable educational tool. The simulation results created using the Matlab program and Unity multiplatform demonstrate the efficiency of the control algorithm and the system that was put into place. Through interactive tests, the operator can experience an industrial process firsthand and interact with the virtual environment.
