Life cycle of family and non-family banana companies in Ecuador: Structural equation model

Abstract:

The life cycle is the process or stages that a company goes through from its creation to its liquidation. In this sense, the objective of this study is to analyze the determining factors that affect the business dynamics of companies because in each country the legal and cultural conditions are different. In this study, a model of SEM structural structures with multivariate characteristics is developed. For this, a structured questionnaire was applied to 600 directors of family and non-family agricultural companies in Ecuador who were surveyed in the collection centers. To assess the correlations between the constructs, the SmartPLS statistical program was extracted, the same one that can be used by academics to carry out future studies using the same variables in another economic sector. The findings show that skills and innovation significantly influence the life cycle of family and non-family farm businesses.
