Aortic false aneurysm shortly after aortic valve replacement
Abstract:
Aortic false aneurysm is a rare complication after cardiac surgery. Surgical procedures should be proposed, even for asymptomatic patients, due to the unpbkp_redictable evolution of the condition. The case is presented of a 61 year old woman who had undergone aortic valve replacement three months earlier, and aortic pseudoaneurysm was confirmed. Urgent surgical intervention was performed and a small orifice was repaired at the aortic root cannula site. The postoperative course was uneventful. Four years later, the patient is asymptomatic with no recurrences.
