A first insight into the bryophyte flora of the mashpi ecological reserve, pichincha, ecuador – notes on the bryophytes of ecuador v


Abstract:

A preliminary list of the bryophytes of the Mashpi Ecological Reserve is presented and 112 species and one variety of liverworts, 41 species of mosses and one species of hornworts are reported. Nine liverworts (Drepanolejeunea spinosa, Harpalejeunea subacuta, Neurolejeunea sas-treana, Plagiochila eggersii, P. rudischusteri, Prionolejeunea magnistipula, P. trachyodes, Trichocolea filicaulis and Zoopsidella integrifolia) and one moss (Cyclodictyon subtortifolium) are newly recorded for Ecuador. Furthermore, 70 liverworts, 19 mosses and one hornwort are registered for the first time for the Province of Pichincha.
