Plant Distribution Based on a Resilient Approach in Textile SMEs
Abstract:
Flexibility, rapid response to changes and the ability to respond to external factors are strategies that organizations must develop to ensure their continuity in the market and face adverse situations. The research project presents a proposal for the distribution of facilities for the company dedicated to the manufacture of rest footwear, considering resilient aspects focused on the global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus. Through software programmed by the research group “ResilTEX” a management system is developed to solve problems of distribution of facilities, the parameters that are considered to define in the study are: distances traveled, cost of transfer of raw material, the application of the methodology of systematic design planning (SLP) and resilient indicators. The development of the project consists of distinct stages, beginning with an analysis of the current situation of the production process, the diagnosis of the facilities, the process flow diagram, and a time study. Resilient aspects are defined that are considered for the elaboration of the distribution of facilities applying the SLP method, where the proximity between work areas is evaluated; In this way, the “ResilTEX” software is used, it proposes two alternatives, the best one is alternative 2 with a cost of $97.54 with respect to material handling.
