TELEWORK AND HUMAN RIGHTS, ORGANIZATIONAL CHARACTERIZATION IN ECUADOR
Abstract:
Objective. Exhaustively explore the intersection between teleworking and human work dynamics, analyzing in detail the essential elements that make up this intertwining. Design/Methodology/Approach. The research focuses on reviewing bibliographic studies and based on the presentation of some authors, the relationship between two concepts of recurrent use in teleworking studies is analyzed. The search was limited to works published in Spanish and English, excluding those articles that do not focus on teleworking. The selected study period was from 2000 to 2023. The search showed 71 results. Taking into account the inclusion criteria, 65 articles were analyzed, which were reduced to 63 that were relevant for inclusion. Results/Discussion. Teleworking is intrinsically related to the right to social protection. By providing workers with the opportunity to perform their duties from home or other alternative locations, a work environment that is more adaptable to individual needs is fostered. This, in turn, contributes to work-life balance, which is crucial for the well-being and social protection of workers. Conclusions. Despite the resurgence of interest in teleworking as an important aspect of ensuring business continuity, the literature base remains fragmented and variable. Originality/Value. The study can stimulate future research, represent a reference point for academics interested in teleworking and, at the same time, provide an additional advantage to managers in understanding crucial dimensions of it.
