Development of Educational Digital Skills in Ecuador

Abstract:

Education is essential in any society. The inclusion of technological media in the educational field has generated the need to develop digital skills in teachers in order to take advantage of these resources. However, the development of these is not the same at the different levels of education. To identify the development of digital skills, in Ecuador and Latin America, a literature mapping was carried out considering the secondary and university levels. 15 primary studies were obtained and it is concluded that the development of teacher digital skills depends on the knowledge of teachers, the infrastructure of education centers and the pedagogical and methodological framework used. A generational gap between young and old teachers was identified, in addition to the need to create strategies for the development of these skills from the first levels of study in order to get the most out of technology.
