Implementation of a Yagi and Biquad antenna at a frequency of 900 MHz, with LoRa module, for a low-cost laboratory


Abstract:

Specialized laboratories have antennas and equipment that allow the design, optimization and implementation with prototypes for both transmission and reception of information. For telecommunications careers, it is imperative that the theoretical knowledge acquired is properly reinforced with a good practical experience. Equipping university laboratories represents an advantage that allows significant learning through laboratory practices with students. This research paper presents the handmade implementation of a Yagi and Biquad antenna with the incorporation of a long range module (LoRa). This is aimed at a practical environment that allows students to analyze the transmission and reflection properties (S-parameters) of the antennas, whose results will be displayed in a vector network analyzer (VNA) equipment, as well as, the packet loss in data transmission measured under humidity and temperature variables.
