Assistance Module to Measure a Person’s Vital Signs Using the Internet of Things


Abstract:

This research shows the implementation of an assistance module to measure the vital signs of a person from home through the use of the Internet of Things (IoT), becoming a viable affordable alternative for the development of the health system through telemetry. The module transmits data via Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) communication protocol to an IoT server that enables continuous data update, information exchange with body temperature and blood oxygen saturation degree sensors through a serial communication bus (I2C) and data display on the thin film transistor (TFT) screen via serial communication. The module displays body temperature and blood oxygen level measurements, contributing to the development of applied health technology in Ecuador.
