Economic networks: Between rurality, habits and sustainability

Abstract:

The work entitled "Tejidos económicos: Entre la ruralidad, los hábitos y la sostenibilidad" brings together a significant body of research that represents the collective effort of the Agricultural and Environmental Economics Research Center "Ing. Jacobo Bucaram Ortiz, PhD" of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics. This book reflects the academic and professional commitment of its authors in the construction of knowledge oriented to solve the challenges faced by contemporary societies in the socioeconomic field, with particular attention to sustainable development, integrating diverse perspectives and disciplines to offer innovative and realistic solutions to current problems of great relevance. The multidisciplinary approach embodied in these pages integrates agricultural economics, sociology, among other fields. Within which, the economy is understood as an engine of social transformation, which, far from being limited to the optimization of resources, should be oriented towards inclusion and human development. The topics covered in this compendium are approached from an integrative perspective, providing the reader with a broad and deep overview of the economic and social factors that affect well-being and equitable development. Throughout its chapters, this book invites reflection on crucial issues such as rural development, environmental sustainability, and access to opportunities for the most vulnerable sectors. Each academic contribution contained herein seeks to provide a solid basis for the formulation of policies, intervention strategies, and development programs that prioritize equity, respect for natural resources, and the inclusion of all voices in society.
