Visualization Models Applied to Atmospheric Pollutants and Meteorological Variables: A Systematic Literature Review


Abstract:

Air pollution is harmful to human health, which is why it has become a great global concern. Most of the studies analyzed use sensors to monitor air quality and data mining techniques are applied to analyze and identify patterns of air pollutants. However, for these studies, no systematic reviews have been presented that address the use of graphical representations applying models and visualization techniques for air quality. This research presents a systematic review to synthesize primary studies that refer to visualization models and techniques that include data mining techniques, applied to atmospheric pollutants and meteorological variables. 746 articles were extracted, of which only 84 articles were selected after applying the exclusion and inclusion criteria and the quality assessment.
