A survey based on the state of the art and perspectives in the monitoring and the control of LV networks
Abstract:
Low Voltage (LV) distribution systems operation is evolving considerably with the emergence of new technological device integration, as well as the flexibility they can provide together with the amount of data that is readily available. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor LV networks in order to properly control these assets to avoid congestions or heavy investments, and to support sustainable development. For that purpose, the CIRED WG 2019-5 is working on the requirements for monitoring and controlling LV networks. The data surveyed from a number of distribution systems operators (DSOs) are presented, analysed and discussed, to demonstrate their current vision on the evolution of LV networks.
